A good beginner's book on the subject, written in typical fishing manual style. There are sections on tackle, casting, trout behaviour, stillwater anatomy, bank fishing, boat fishing and fly tying. None of the instruction goes much further than skin deep, but Peter Reeves' book doesn't have any pretensions to more than cover the basics, and on the whole it offers good, sensible advice. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending it to a novice.
