Progressive Fly Tying is typical of the class of book that reviewers transfer as rapidly as possible from the desk to the bin, chiefly because self-published texts seldom have any merit. This one runs true to form, with dodgy colour and paragraphs chopped off in their prime. The asking price is steep, given the quality issues and there are other, better books available which cover the same ground.

At the time of publication, this book was part of the coursework for Angling for Youth Development. The second edition, containing the missing text from the end of pages 59 and 131 is eagerly awaited, but Progressive Fly Tying appears to be out of print.
